Nail Your Wedding Style…

On your wedding day, your hands get LOTS of attention! Whilst many of us overlook our hands and nails, it’s time to treat them to some pampering and get them ready for their Big Day!

The 1st step is to moisturise! This is key to healthy nails and hands. For cuticles, a slick of nail oil morning and night encourages healthy nail growth. For your hands, a rich and nourishing hand cream is a must. My favourite is L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. This is a real treat, but worth every penny!

Before you start painting, don’t forget a protective base coat. Once you start adding colour, the last thing you will want is stained nails, especially if you want to use a lighter colour on your wedding day.

Now for some colour…! There are just so many to choose from – pinks and plums to gold and nude. Pick a shade that suits you and change them as the mood takes you. (We have picked out a few of our favourites below for you.) If you are feeling creative, experiment with some nail art too. Nail art pens are easy to use and great for adding spots and stripes to your paint job.

As a reformed nail biter (!) I now change my polish frequently to make sure they always look nice and neat. I often treat myself to a Shellac manicure too, which lasts 2-3 weeks. These are great if you don’t have time to maintain colour all the time or are prone to chipping your nails. Whilst these manicures aren’t indestructible, they last well and are hard to chip or damage – great if you tend to be a little on the clumsy side! They are also a great idea to take you from wedding day to honeymoon – as they last a full 14 days.

So have some fun with colour and treat your hands so that they are ready for their close up…
