A Guest Post: Booze Free Stag Parties…

When people think of stag parties the image that immediately springs to mind is drunken debauchery with someone stripped to their pants and tied to a pole. But surely this is getting old; don’t people want to experience something new on a stag party?

The conventions of gaining a sense of camaraderie through strange activities and personalised T-shirts can still be achieved even if the idea of a booze-free stag party may seem odd to some, but experiencing something new and being able to remember it is surely preferable to spending the weekend drunk with no memory of it whatsoever. Not only will this be healthier for the groom, I’m sure it will reduce the stress levels of many brides to be immeasurably.

Hovercrafting

Hovercrafting is an activity that’s available in a surprisingly large amount of areas, yet few people have taken part in before. Hovercrafts can travel at high speeds over both land and water, so not only is the activity unusual, so is the vehicle. Racing against another member of the party will provide a sure-fire adrenaline rush as they cross the line with both terror and excitement etched onto their face.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

It’s probably for the best that this idea is not combined with alcohol for obvious reasons, but the healthy competition it creates is great for team bonding, especially if the father of the bride is attending. With a little expert tuition everyone can do it, and after a day’s worth of shooting clays you’ll be sure to be getting the biggest bang for your buck.

Tank Driving

What little boy didn’t run around the playground playing army? So why not make those playtime adventures a reality by experiencing what it’s like to take a ride in one of the most iconic military sights, a tank. Now this idea is very unusual, but unless you’re party members are military personal they’ll never have another chance like it.

Extreme Dodgems

Now this is the ultimate chance to relive some nervous tension. As far as motorised activities go this has to be one of the most extreme, racing real stockcars against your friends and family is bound to get the adrenaline pumping and flare up the competitive spirit. This also provides the perfect opportunity for everyone to find out who the real king of the road is.

Coasteering

Now this is an activity many people have never heard of, but it’s a great idea for those who like extreme activities. Coasteering involves exploring the coastline, but it’s nothing like a gentle stroll down the beach, with elements of rock scrambling, open sea swimming, and cliff jumping. This is definitely an activity for those with lots of energy and a taste for adventure.

With these ideas there should be plenty of alternatives for those who would prefer not to go out and get trollied, but would rather try new things and gain something from their stag experience!
